This figure looks a lot like Chris Hemsworth, and is a superb good quality sculpt. I got it as a collector’s item, so I haven’t taken it out of the package but it looks pretty durable. Considering that no product listing Anywhere lists the size of the figure, I’ll state that this figure is 7 inches tall and looks truly wonderful, capturing Hemsworth’s likeness nicely, also as his amazing costume.
Now, the figure comes with two issues — his hammer, which he can only hold in his right hand, plus a big circular base that is meant to be joined with a piece that comes with the Loki figure. Both pieces are pointless separately (I do not have the Loki figure, but I assume it is useless with out Thor’s base). Considering that I’ve no plans on obtaining the Loki figure, the massive circular base that came with this is just a massive disc.
Anyway, this toy isn’t for kids. You will find some sharp edges as well as the articulation borders on a joke. The knees barely bend, the ankles barely move, and arms hardly rotate too. You may pretty a lot display him as he is out of the box and that is about it. I do not think kids will get a lot mileage out of him.
So, if this is just for Thor Hero Action Figure toys display – I suggest it! If it is meant for play, get among the little ones you’ll uncover in a toy store or convenience store. As a collector, one of the most frustrating issues you’ll be able to knowledge is opening a really good seeking, detailed, well-sculpted figure, just to have a hand break off since the joint was too tight. I’m no veteran to figures and collecting, and I’ve witnessed this all too often, particularly with Diamond products. Star Trek TNG figures were horrible with hands breaking off since the joints were too tight also. Even becoming really careful to gradually loosen them for posing–SNAP! Plus the extra crappy component may be the plastic they use is usually a type that doesn’t take quite nicely to Gorilla Glue.
Disappointing. Otherwise a fantastic figure, but whenever you snap off a hand right out of the package… boo. Grandson received this from Amazon on his birthday–delivered on time as promised. He stated that Captain America is wonderful and is quite happy with this super hero. I haven’t noticed the toy as it was delivered directly towards the birthday boy. Based on our 5-yr-old’s remarks, although, I would say he would suggest it for anybody who likes to play super hero. Huzzah! It looks like the Mattel Movie Masters line that gave us some reasonably excellent to wonderful Dark Knight action figures (and one Bat-Pod) for adult collectors to take pleasure in is back with a vengeance for the upcoming “Green Lantern” motion picture, and I’m so glad. I collected a number of of the Dark Knight figures, and I was disappointed that no matching scale Jonah Hex figures came out to add to my group, but now there is a ray of hope that a Superman Movie Masters figure might be on the horizon (with the subsequent Supes movie) thanks to these new Green Lantern releases! I’ve just picked up the starring Lantern figure, Hal Jordan, bearing an fantastic likeness to hilarious star Ryan Reynolds, and I’m so psyched about it! The figure looks fantastic and movie accurate, nicely detailed with metallic green paint plus a lantern accessory. This figure is very articulated and also comes with a stand plus a piece of Parallax. The 14 pieces required to build the Parallax figure imply there are plenty of a lot more Green Lantern Movie Masters figures to come! Presently, only three character figures are pictured on the back of the package, but I’ve noticed several others here on Amazon (package states 11 figures are required to total Parallax). My overall assessment of this Hal Jordon Green Lantern figure is fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. Really like the likeness, paint, detail, articulation, every thing! I particularly love that he is in scale with my Dark Knight figs (where may be the Thor figure to scale with my present Marvel movie collection of 6 inchers?!!! Argh!). Nonetheless, will I truly make an effort to collect a lot more of this line? I do not know. I truly do not have a objective of owning the entire Lantern Corps right now, and I haven’t noticed the film and do not know who all appears. Sinestro could be cool to have although, but I’d prefer him wearing something apart from green…
Anyway, here’s hoping we see a lot more Movie Masters figures for other DC comics films (You may backtrack some past ones and Television shows if you’d like; Wonder Woman, Superman the Movie, and so on…). I’d like to build a DC movie-based display to match the massive one I already have for Marvel, and I wish they’d get back on track with those also. Match the scale of the old X-Men movie figs please, toy-making powers that be! You still have to have to give us 6 inch figures of movie versions of Elektra, Kitty Pryde, Thor, Gambit, Silver Surfer, and I have to have me a Captain America too, for future reference. Get on those and I’ll be satisfied! Oh, and do not forget Howard the Duck, ha.
